This was the offering of the princes of Israel for the dedication of the altar because it had just been anointed: twelve silver plates, twelve silver bowls, and twelve golden spoons. The sum of the money amounted to two thousand four hundred shekels, according to the value of the shekel under the sanctuary. The sum of the gold was a hundred and twenty shekels. The sum of the animals for the burnt offering: twelve bulls, twelve rams, twelve male lambs each a year old, and twelve male goats for a sin offering. The sum of the animals for thanks offerings: twenty four young bulls, sixty rams, sixty goats and sixty male lambs each a year old.
