Willy Wiedmann described the Acts of the Apostles as a “chronic continuo” in which the authors attempted to testify to and protect a historical record of the early church. In Wiedmann’s opinion, the Acts of the Apostles break off too abruptly following the various stations to Rome, as if a section had been lost. Therefore, he felt, a true conclusion seemed to be lacking.
