Then Peter stood forward with the eleven, lifted his voice and spoke to them,
saying among other things, these here are not drunk, it is only the 3rd hour of the day, on the contrary Joel the Prophet said (3,1-5). It will come to pass that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Your people will see visions.
I will do miracles and signs on the earth below.
The sun will turn to darkness and the moon to blood. And whoever calls the Lord’s name will be saved on the day of Revelation.
Peter: Let me speak of David the patriarch. He is buried here with us. As he was a Prophet here with his oath that his descendants shall be on his king’s throne. He had foreseen that Jesus, that God raised again, now sits at the right hand of God and has received the Holy Spirit. For David did not ascend into heaven as Jesus did – but he has said (Ps 110,1) “The Lord has said to my Lord, sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet! This is known by the whole house of Israel” So let you repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
