I pleaded with the Lord and said: Lord, Lord – you have demonstrated your greatness and your strong hand to your servant. For where in heaven or on earth is there a god which could do as you do? let me cross and see the good land beyond the Jordan, this good hill country and Lebanon.
However, the Lord was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me and instead said: let it go, do not speak of it. Climb up to the peak of Mount Pigsa, turn your eyes to the west and north and south and east, see it for you will not cross the Jordan. Command Joshua not to be dismayed for he shall lead the people over the Jordan to distribute them across the land that you see.
