Tribes of the Levites

Kohath = Kohathites
Merari = Merarites
These, the tribes of Levi:
Libnites
Hebronites
Mahlites
Mushites
Korahites

However, Kohath beget Amram. And Amram’s wife was named Jochebed, daughter of Levi, born in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aavon. To Aavon were born
Nadab, Abihu
Eleazar, Ithamar

Nadab and Abihu died when they brought foreign fire before the Lord.

23,000 people. They were not counted together with the Israelites, for they were given no inheritance among the Israelites. This is how Moses and Eleazar, the priest, counted.
Not one of them was counted in the census in Sinai.
