The cloud covered the tabernacle on the day it was erected. From evening until morning, it appeared to have fire above it. But the cloud arose from the tent so many times that the children of Israel set out to camp there as long as it remained.
And they watched as it stood and followed the instruction of the Lord. They camped as long as the cloud remained, and only left with the word of the Lord. Yet the cloud still arose, so the children of Israel also left. Because they camped and left as the Lord commanded, as he commanded it through Moses.
