There was a ruthless man, whose name was Sheba, who blew the trumpet. He shouted, “We have no portion in David, nor inheritance in the son of Jesse. Everyone go to his tent. Then they rebelled against David in Israel. But the men of Judah remained loyal to David and brought him to Jerusalem.
At home, David took the ten concubines whom he had left to keep the house and locked them in a separate house, where they lived as widows
And the king said to Amasa, Call all the men of Judah together in three days.”
But Amasa stayed longer than the agreed time. David said, “Now Sheba will do more harm than Absalom did. Take the men, and pursue after him.” And they came to the great stone in Gibeon. Amasa was in front of them there. Joab was wearing a soldier’s garment and a belt with a dagger, which was attached to his waist in its sheath and when he came out, the dagger fell out.
