And Absalom had a bodyguard of fifty men, a chariot and horses. Absalom stood by the way and told the people not go to the king. He held a court and acted as if he were a judge. If anyone fell down before him, he kissed his hand. And Absalom did this in all Israel, and so he stole the hearts of the men from his king.
