Abner, the captain of Saul’s army, brought Ishbosheth (Eshbaat), the son of Saul, to Mahanaim and made him king over Gilead, Ashur, Jezreel, Ephraim, Benjamin and over all Israel. Ishbosheth was forty years old and he reigned two years. But David reigned seven years over Judah.
