Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. Saul’s servants said, “Command your servants to seek out a man who can play the harp when the evil spirit is on you.” Saul commanded his servants to seek him. Then one of the young men said, “A son of Jesse can play the harp, he is brave and handsome and the Lord is with him.” And Jesse took a donkey and bread and a container of wine and a young goat, and sent them by his son David to Saul. David came to Saul, and stood before him. Saul loved him and he became his armor bearer. When the evil spirit was on Saul, David took the harp and played. So Saul was refreshed and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
