I cry with a loud voice to the Lord for mercy.
I pour out my complaint before him,
when my spirit was overwhelmed within me.
You know my path, where they have laid snares for me.
I looked to the right, kept watch, but there was no one there, Lord.
I cry out to you. You are my refuge.
Listen to my cry, for I am poor and needy.
Deliver me from my persecutors.
Bring my soul out of prison,
so I may give thanks to your name.

Lord, hear my prayer.
Do not enter into judgment with your servant.
My enemy pursues me, my soul despairs,
and my heart is desolate within my chest.
I spread out my hands to you and pray,
Lord, hear me soon. Do not hide your face from me,
so that I don’t become like those who go down into the pit.
For the sake of your name, Lord, protect me,
and deliver me from distress. May all my enemies be cut off.
