Why should the nations say
“Where is their God, now?”
Our God is in heaven.

The idols of the nations are only silver and gold,
the work of men’s hands – they have a mouth, but do not speak.
They have eyes, but do not see. They have ears, but do not hear.
They have noses, but do not smell.
Their hands cannot feel,
and their feet cannot walk.
Those who make them will be like them.
Israel, trust in the Lord,
he is your help and your shield.
He will bless all who fear him.
Great and small are blessed by the Lord,
who has made heaven and earth.
The heavens are the Lord’s,
the earth is given to the children of man. The dead are silent.
