Lord, I seek refuge in you;
never let me be disappointed.
Tear me out of it, save me
in your justice,
from the hand of the wicked,
from the fist of the oppressor, the unrighteous man.
I have relied on you from the womb.
Do not forsake me
in my old age, or when my strength fails.
Those who watch for my soul conspire together:
“God has forsaken him. Pursue and take him!”
But let my accusers be disappointed and consumed.
Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn.
My mouth will tell about your righteousness all day long.
God, you have taught me from my youth,
with your powerful arm and your strength.
You have done great things;
rejuvenate me. Bring me up
from the depths of the earth.
I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God,
and sing praises to you with the lyre.
My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you.
My tongue will also talk about your righteousness
all day long!
