(To the tune of: “Do not destroy”, by David)
Do you indeed speak righteousness, you powerful ones?
No, in your heart you plot injustice, evil, rebellion;
the wicked go astray from the womb,
speaking lies, and as poisonous as snakes.
Oh God, break their teeth in their mouth.
Break out the great teeth of the lions;
let them vanish like water and wilt like grass,
or melt like the snail in slime,
let them be like the stillborn child,
who has not seen the sun.
Your pots shall not feel the fire;
there is a God who judges the earth.

(To the tune of: “Do not destroy” a poem by David, when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.)
Deliver me from my enemies, my God.
Lord, I have done no wrong;
they are ready to attack me.
Oh Lord, you God of armies, rouse yourself!
Every evening they come again,
howling like dogs, prowling through the city,
voracious and eating.
My strength, to you will I cling, for you,
oh God, are my high tower.
Do not kill them, or my people may forget.
Bring them down.
But I will sing of your strength;
I will praise your loving kindness in the morning.
You are my high tower, my strength,
my gracious God.
