On the eighth day Moses called to Aaron and said:
Take a young bull for a sin offering and a ram without flaws for a burnt offering, and bring them before the Lord. Speak unto the children of Israel, and say: Take ye a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and lamb – both a year old and without flaws – for a burnt offering; and take a bull and ram for a thanks offering, so that we may sacrifice them before the Lord; And a food offering mixed with oil.For today the Lord will appear before you. And they brought what Moses commanded before the door of the tabernacle. Moses said: Step up to the altar and offer the sacrifice. And Aaron slaughtered the young bull as a sin offering. His sons brought the blood and he dipped his finger in the blood and sprinkled it on the horns of the altar and poured blood at its base. He then slew the burnt offering, and they sprinkled the blood all around the altar. And they brought the burnt offering to Aaron. Piece by piece and the head, and he let it go up in smoke upon the burnt offering. He then brought the offering of the people near, took the goat – the sin offering of the people – slew it, did as previously and brought a burnt offering and did so according to order; and he brought the food offering, took a handful of it and let it go up in smoke on the altar.
Then he slaughtered the ox and ram as thanks offerings of the people. The sons brought the blood forth and he sprinkled it around the altar. He let the intestines, fat and all of it go up in smoke on the altar. But Aaron swung the breast and right leg before the Lord as a swing offering.
And Aaron lifted his hands to the people and blessed them, and descended after he had offered the sin offerings, burnt offerings and thanks offerings. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle. They then blessed the people when they came out again. “There appeared to the people the glory of the Lord of all the people.“ And a fire came out of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When the people saw this, they rejoiced and fell to the ground on their faces…
