And the Lord spoke to Moses and said:
Take Aaron and his sons, the garments, the anointing oil and the bull for a sin offering, both rams and the basket of unleavened bread, and assemble the whole congregation at the door of the tabernacle. Moses did what the Lord commanded. He let Aaron and his sons come forth and washed them with water and clothed him with linen, girded him and dressed him in a garment and the ephod, then the breast pocket, put the loose in the “Light and Right” pocket and clothed him with a turban;the golden plate was at the front, the sacred maturity as commanded by the Lord to Moses. And Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the sanctuary and everything that was in it.
He sprinkled seven times on the altar and the bason with his trestle and ordained it.
And he poured the anointing oil on Aaron’s head, anointing him so that he would be ordained; and brought Aaron’s sons and clothed them with a linen robe, girded them and put high caps on their heads.
And he brought the bull for a sin offering. Aaron and his sons lay their hands on its head and slaughtered the animal, dipping their fingers in its blood and spreading it around the horns of the altar; they thus purified the altar and poured blood at its base. And he let the intestines, liver, kidneys and fat go up in smoke. The rest of the bullas well as its hide were burned over fire outside.
And he brought the ram for the burnt offering. Aaron and his sons lay their hands on its head and Moses slaughtered it, and then sprinkled its blood all around the altar; he cut the ram into pieces, burned the head, the pieces and the fat, and washed the entrails and legs with water and let the whole ram go up in smoke on the altar. This was a burnt offering, a fire offering to the Lord.
And he brought the other ram for an investiture offering and they did the same thing with their hands. Moses slaughtered it, took its blood and put some on Aaron’s right earlobe, and on the thumb of his right hand and big toe of his right foot. And he brought forth Aaron’s sons and did the same thing to them with the blood. And he took the fat and fat tail and all the fat of the entrails and lobe of the liver, the two kidneys with the fat and the right leg; then he took an unleavened cake from the basket, a loaf of bread with oil and one flatbread, and put it on the fat and right leg.
And he put all of it on Aaron and his sons‘ hands and swung it for a swing offering before the Lord and took it all back from their hands and let it all go up in smoke on the altar, upon the burnt offering. This was aninvestiture offering for a lovely fragrance unto the Lord as a fire offering.
Moses took the breast and swung it as a swing offering before the Lord; Moses received a share of the ram of the investiture offering. Moses took from the anointing oil and the blood on the altar and sprinkled it on Aaron and his clothes, and did the same to Aaron’s sons. He thus ordained them.
And Moses spoke to Aaron and his sons:
Cook the meat before the door of the tabernacle and eat it there, as well as the bread in the basket of the investiture offering. But you shall burn what remains of the flesh and bread. You shall not leave the door of the tabernacle for seven days, and shall have your hands full for all seven. Like today, the Lord commanded furthermore that you are all absolved. Stay seven days long, day and night, that you may not die; this is what the Lord has offered me. And Aaron and his sons did what the Lord commanded through Moses.
