In his days Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came up and Jehoiakim was his servant for three years, then he rebelled against him. Then the Lord sent the armies of the Chaldeans, Arameans, Moabites and Ammonites against Judah. And they destroyed it according to the word of the Lord. For the sins of Manasseh and for the innocent blood he shed in Jerusalem, which the Lord would not pardon. Jehoiakim became his successor. Pharaoh came no more to his land because Nebuchadnezzar had taken everything that belonged to the Egyptians from the Nile to the Euphrates.
