But in the third year of Asa, Baasha the son of Ahijah became king over all Israel. He ruled in Tirzah. Then the word of the Lord came against Baasha, “Because I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over Israel, and you have walked in sin with the people, behold, I will remove you and destroy your house as I did with the house of Jeroboam.”
