Nadab, son of Jeroboam, became king in the second year of Asa, king of Judah. He reigned two years and did what displeased the Lord. He walked in the sins of his father. Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him and struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines. Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah and became king in his place. Then he struck all the house of Jeroboam as had been foretold by Ahijah, the servant of God. Baasha reigned in Tirzah twenty-four years over all Israel. But he walked in the way of sin, which displeased the Lord and provoked him to anger.
