The next day the Jews banded together to fast until they had killed Paul. They went to the high priests and asked them that they should interrogate Paul more exactly so that they could kill Paul on the way there. But Paul’s sister’s son heard about it and went to Paul so he asked that he be allowed to report this to the commanding officer. He had Paul taken to Caesarea in the third hour of the night guarded by two captains and 200 soldiers. 70 horsemen and 200 bowmen also accompanied them. The commanding officer wrote a letter to Claudius Lysias, the noble Governor Felix describing the situation. The governor kept him in Herod’s palace on the pretext of further interrogating him.
