Peter and John went to the temple at the 9th hour. He who was lame from birth was carried before the Beautiful Door of the temple and begged for alms. But Peter and John said: Look at us. Silver and gold have I not but what I have I give to you. Stand up and walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and lifted him up. Straightaway he could walk, leaped and praised God. When they saw all this, they were full of wonder and fear and all the people ran into the hall of Solomon.
But Peter said: why do you look at us, as if we had done this with our strength or piety?
The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob of our fathers has glorified his servant Jesus that you have delivered and denied. The sick man believed in him, therefore he became healthy before all your eyes.
Moses has said: The Lord will raise a Prophet for you from your brothers. And all Prophets since Samuel have foretold this day to you. So all should turn away from his wickedness.
