The watchmen of Saul saw that the multitude of the Philistines was running to and fro. Then Saul said to the people who were with him, “Count now, and see who is missing from us.” They found out that Jonathan was not there. Saul said to Ahijah, “Bring the ark here.” The tumult of the Philistines increased. Saul said to the priest, “Let it be,” and they came to the battlefield. All the Philistines were striking one another with their swords. The Hebrews who were with the Philistines before also came over to the Israelites.
