Many times they have afflicted me from youth up,
but could not prevail against me.
The plowers plowed on my back.
They made their furrows long.
But the Lord is righteous, and has cut the cords of the wicked.
They are disappointed and withered like the grass on the housetops.
The reaper does not fill his hand with it; they are like a garden no one uses.
Those who pass by will say:
“The blessing of the Lord be on you.
We bless you in the name of the Lord.”
Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord.
Hear my voice, and turn your ears towards me.
Be attentive to my loud petitions.
Our sins, Lord, are forgiven by you.
I hope in the Lord, and in his word.
My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning.
Israel must hope in the Lord;
in him there is loving kindness, and abundant redemption.
He will redeem the land from all its sins.
