Praise the Lord, my soul.
Lord, my God, how great you are.
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
and with light like a garment.
You stretch out the heavens like a tent,
anchor the beams of your rooms in water.
You make the clouds your chariot,
and walk on the wings of the storm.
You make the winds your messengers,
and flames of fire your servants.
You have laid the foundations of the earth.
Once the waters stood above the mountains,
but you made a boundary for them.
You have made springs to run forth,
to run among the mountains
and give drink to every animal of the field –
the wild donkeys,
and the birds whose song sounds from among the branches.
You have watered the mountains from your chambers,
and satisfied the earth from your clouds.
Grass grows for the livestock,
and plants for mankind.
He makes oil for his face,
and bread for his heart.
The trees of the lord are well watered, the cedars,
the cypresses, where the stork nests.
The high mountains are for the wild goats,
and the rocks are a refuge for rock badgers.
You have made the moon for seasons.
The sun knows when to set.
You have sent darkness and night.
The animals of the forest prowl,
and the young lions roar after prey.
The sun shines down,
and then they steal away to their hiding places.
Man goes out to his work.
Lord, how many are your works.
In wisdom have you made them all.
The earth is full of your creations.
There is the sea, so great and wide.
There the ships go.
All await you, oh Lord.
You give to them, and they gather.
The glory of the Lord will last forever.
He looks down on the earth and it trembles.
He touches mountains and they smoke.
I will sing to the Lord, my God, as long as I live.
May my words be pleasing to him.
